Kawase Hasui: Autumn at Saruiwa 500-piece Jigsaw Puzzle

Description

Kawase Hasui (Japanese, 1883–1957)
Autumn at Saruiwa, Shiobara, 1949

Kawase Hasui’s impressionist-influenced images emphasized the beauty of Japan’s rural countryside and the changing seasons. The mountainscape in autumn, reproduced for this 500-piece puzzle, is a prime example of the artist’s mastery of delicate transitions in color, unique compositional viewpoints, and complementing textures of rocks and foliage.
