Vincent van Gogh: Sunflowers Small Boxed Cards

Description

Rejecting the naturalism of Impressionism, Vincent van Gogh painted in bold, intense colors that could convey his emotions about the subject, whether he was working on portraits, landscapes, or still lifes. Sunflowers appealed to him—the energetic shapes, vivid hues, and cheerful personality of each flower are on display in this painting completed during the winter of 1889, just a year before his untimely death.
